Greetings,
Welcome to the fifth of many sessions of "Introducing NVDA" Webinar Recording series. BHP conducted a webinar aimed at amplifying Non Visual Desktop Access screen reading solution for Microsoft Windows to the audience of South Asia on July 11th, 2021.
Beside very low per-capita income, visually challenged community in this part of the world is heavily dependent on commercial and super costly screen readers for performing their day to day computer tasks since decades. Definitely the affordability of those screen readers is most of the time not possible and people are forced to use, not so good methods.
NVDA however, is a very good answer to this problem. Currently the advanced computer users here have either completely shifted to NVDA or started using it on their own.
However, the beginners are being trained on existing popular screen readers in institutions and older generation of users are not ready to accept the new option. This webinar aimed at bridging the gap and presenting NVDA as fully functional and feature pack solution and convince the audience to try it out.
Research proves that listening to the content aloud can help people with dyslexia and other diseases. NVDA supports a wide array of voices for ease of reading for anyone, including people with disabilities. One might prefer a compact voice for quick skimming, or someone else might need the most natural sounding voice available in the market to read out their content. NVDA has you covered in both of the cases. Listen to this session as in this 5th part of our series, Muhammad Hamza demonstrates some of the voices that exist in the market as well as the way to configure the voice to your liking. Stick around to learn more.
