Hangout is a service provided by google to make audio/video calls, chat and text messaging all at one place. It is integrated with your gmail ID, so you don't need to sign-up separately to use hangout. Its clients are available for iOS and android, and its android client has also the capability to be used as the phone's default messaging application. Through that way, you can unite all of your conversation at one place, no matter whether those are with your friends through text messages, or through internet-based chatts/calls.

Google has also provided the web platform to use the service in any web browser. Anyone can easily login to hangouts.google.com from Windows, Mac or Linux, to have a conversation right away!
